Welcome to the fifth edition of Music Monday! This week's winning song is "Better Now" by Post Malone. Remember, we take requests, so if there is a song you’d like to see, don't hesitate to send a DM to @thetannertimes on Instagram!
"Better Now" is a nice modern breakup song, some might say. It has a catchy chorus "you probably think that you are better now… would have gave you anything, would have gave you everything." The lyrics in this song not only create a song well written and fun to listen to, but also show insight into Malone's break up he refused to keep quiet about any longer. The track came out as the album's 9th single on June 5th, 2018. It also reached the top 10 in the US, UK, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand.
The song is the 9th song on his album “beerbongs & bentleys” and along with Better Now, his songs ‘Rockstar’ ft. 21 Savage and Psycho ft. Ty Dolla $ign are also on the album and big successes.
I really like the intro of the song. I don’t know what it is about it, but it sounds really cool and low key, almost muffled. What I also like about the song is that it really expresses his feeling towards people and what his past relationships were like… it shows how in many relationships they act like they are ‘better without them’. Overall the song is really catchy and a cool tune to listen to in the car, at home, or just plain old thinking about your past relationships.
So, what do you think about the song? Make sure to give it a listen here on Spotify or YouTube!
