Music Monday No. 13: "George of the Jungle"
Welcome to this week’s edition of Music Monday! This week’s winning song was the theme song to the movie George of the Jungle by Stan Worth and Sheldon Allman. Don't forget that we take suggestions, so if you want a song to be nominated make sure to shoot a DM @thetannertimes on Instagram.
The theme song to George of the Jungle is everything a song in a cartoon movie should have. The mix of different animal noises, beats, and tempos in the introduction are great. I like that the lyrics did not come in until around a minute into the song so you have a sense of what the movie is going to be about before the lyrics tell a story. The lyrics are about how George of the Jungle is very strong and lives a life of no cares with a pet elephant. The song overall is really good and a great theme song to a movie.
The movie George of the Jungle was released in 1997 and it was based on a cartoon that had the same name. The movie is about a boy who was raised by apes who later falls in love with an American woman. There is also a sequel to this movie called George of the Jungle 2 which was released in 2002.
