With the arrival of the first long weekend of the school year, you may be wondering what you should be doing with your time. Here is a list of ideas so you can use the next three days to the fullest:
1. Read a book
Try some of these: Leah on the Offbeat, Just Mercy, Sadie, Hey Kiddo. Ms. Moylan has a lot of books so get one from the library.
2. Watch Netflix
There’s a lot of movie and shows out there, but here some recommendations from members of The Tanner Times: How to Get Away With Murder, Riverdale, Stranger Things, and Gilmore Girls.
3. Don’t procrastinate
Don’t go too into that Netflix watchlist and instead try catching up on homework and missing assignments.
4. Catch up on missing sleep
You can finally turn off that alarm clock and sleep in past the early 5:30 wake up time.
5. Try going to a new place/restaurant
New restaurants have opened around Peabody including The Castle in Beverly, Hop + Grind at the Northshore Mall, and In The Game.
6. Treat yourself
Have a spa day and get your nails done. A day dedicated to self-care is important.
7. Bake something
Make Oreo Cookie Dough Brownies to bribe teachers if you end up procrastinating during the weekend.
8. Hang out with friends
Go someplace with friends so you’re not texting each other from classrooms that are on opposite ends of the high school.
9. Exercise
Go to the McVann O’Keefe Skating Rink or do other activities you usually can’t do during the busy week.
10.Spend time with family
Now that you have a long weekend, acknowledge your family and try some of these things with them.
