Welcome to this week's edition of Music Monday. This week’s winning song was “Rasputin” by Boney M. Don’t forget that we take suggestions, so if you want a song to be nominated make sure to shoot us a DM on Instagram @thetannertimes.
“Rasputin” by Boney M. is a pretty interesting song. The first time I listened I didn’t really like it, but after listening to it a few times it got better. It’s not particularly something I would listen to everyday, but if I heard it somewhere else I would listen to it. The lyrics to me are quite interesting. It really makes the song unique and it is like nothing I’ve ever heard before.
This song was published in 1979 by the German pop and Euro disco group, Boney M. This song is showcased in their album Nightflight to Venus. It reached the top of the charts in multiple European countries including Germany and the United Kingdom upon its release. This song has a tune that closely resembles the Turkish folk song “Kâtibim."
Thank you for reading all about “Rasputin” by Boney M. If you have never listened to this song or want to listen to it again it can be played on either YouTube or Spotify. I hope you enjoyed this week's edition of Music Monday.
