As you all know, school is a little different this year. At the beginning of the school year, we got to pick whether you wanted to do hybrid schooling or remote, and I personally chose hybrid. The schedule is really good: two days a week we go into school and the days are different depending on which cohort you are in. The other three days are online which isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. It’s almost halfway through the school year, and I decided to ask some people what they think about hybrid schooling so far.

1. What do you like about doing hybrid learning?
I like being able to go in and see my teacher and friends in person rather than having to see them while being cooped up all day at home. Plus, it's much easier to learn in person rather than fully remote.
2. What don't you like about doing hybrid learning?
I don't know when we’re doing online classes and my computer will sometimes freeze and lag. There also are a lot of Wi-Fi issues.
3. If you knew what hybrid learning was going to be like back in August when you had to choose whether or not you wanted to do hybrid learning, would you still have chosen it?
Yes, because it is the closest thing to actually being in school full time again.
4. Do you think hybrid learning gives the right amount of work, too little, or too much?
I think hybrid learning definitely made us get a lot more work than we used to. It really depends on what teachers you have. Hybrid learning also makes it easier for us for tests and quizzes.
5. Overall, do you think you are doing better now doing hybrid learning rather than last year in Quarters 3 and 4?
Yes, I am! My grades are all A’s and my grades last year weren’t as good. The teachers are better at teaching the lessons now, and everything is planned out better

1. What do you like about doing hybrid learning?
That waking up at 6 AM every morning isn't mandatory.
2. What don't you like about doing hybrid learning?
Actually, I really like it so I can't think of any negatives about it.
3. If you knew what hybrid learning was going to be like back in August when you had to choose whether or not you wanted to do hybrid learning, would you still have chosen it?
Yes, I would have chosen to do hybrid schooling because if I chose completely online, I would have less motivation to do any of my work and choosing hybrid gives me enough motivation.
4. Do you think hybrid learning gives the right amount of work, too little, or too much?
I think we get the right amount of work.
5. Overall, do you think you are doing better now doing hybrid learning rather than last year in Quarters 3 and 4?
I am doing so much better grade-wise rather than fully remote.

1. What do you like about doing hybrid learning?
I like the fact that I get extra sleep.
2. What don't you like about doing hybrid learning?
The fact that I have to stay home to do work where I am not able to concentrate most of the time and do my work. Also, having to wait for my teachers to check their emails to get a response back if I have questions about the assigned work I have.
3. If you knew what hybrid learning was going to be like back in August when you had to choose whether or not you wanted to do hybrid learning, would you still have chosen it?
Yes, I'm kind of forced to go to school because of my competencies and labs for medical. If I were not in medical, I would have no reason to attend school.
4. Do you think hybrid learning gives the right amount of work, too little, or too much?
I get too much work. Teachers sometimes need to add more work to the homework since there is not enough time to do all the classwork during meetings. So extra work is added onto the homework making the assignments add up and making it very overwhelming for people like me who can't concentrate at home. For example, not all the kids at our school go back to loving families, some go back to a toxic environment at home.
5. Overall, do you think you are doing better now doing hybrid learning rather than last year in Quarters 3 and 4?
Personally, I am doing worse than before. Usually, I would be in school and would be able to be myself without being judged by relevant people in my life.

1. What do you like about doing hybrid learning?
Personally, I like having the comfort of my own home to do my work. I feel like that’s one positive part of hybrid learning. I like that I get to choose to take a break when I need one. I also can't forget to mention being able to sleep in 3 days out of the week! That's a huge bonus for hybrid learning.
2. What don't you like about doing hybrid learning?
It's way easier to get distracted at home. Whether it's my phone, TV, or my family. Sometimes it's just hard to focus. Another thing is I think I would learn more in my class if I was physically there all the time with my teacher like it was before. I feel there are a lot more opportunities to ask questions in an in-person class. I hate having to spam my teachers about questions I have.
3. If you knew what hybrid learning was going to be like back in August when you had to choose whether or not you wanted to do hybrid learning, would you still have chosen it?
Yes, I think I would have chosen it despite wanting to be able to sleep in almost every single day of the week. I also think that going to class and actually getting to see my teachers in person is beneficial to my learning. Not only because it is more hands-on and easier to ask questions, but I can get to know my teachers without a screen being in the way. I also end up feeling more productive getting up and going to school.
4. Do you think hybrid learning gives the right amount of work, too little, or too much?
Right now I feel like I am getting just the right amount of work. Basically, I have a few assignments to do everyday when I am on task, and the work is generally understandable from what we have been learning in class. I know many people think it's too much, but despite home distractions, I am able to get my assignments done.
5. Overall, do you think you are doing better now doing hybrid learning rather than last year in Quarters 3 and 4?
Yes, certainly. This year's hybrid learning and more in-depth remote learning has helped me a lot compared to last year's wishy-washy schedule. I also think if I was completely remote this year, I wouldn't have as much of an understanding of the material I'm learning in class. Fortunately, I am able to attend school twice a week and see the board, notes, and hear my teachers voice in person. Plus, no one can turn their cameras off in class. It's nice to see people during this time, despite all of the precautions we have to take.
